Elon Musk’s child, 18, is granted permission to change nаme to Vivian Jenna Wilson: Says she no longer wishes to be related to her bio.logi.cal father ‘in any way’

Elon Musk’s daughter has eschewed her father’s name and is now officially Vivian Jenna Wilson, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Vivian, 18, officially adopted her mother, Justine’s, maiden name as well as being granted a gender change, reports TMZ.

She was earlier quoted as saying in court documents the name change was motivated by ‘the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.’

A new birth certificate reflecting the name and gender change will be issued shortly. The judge’s ruling simply read: ‘The petitioner’s name is changed from Xavier Alexander Musk to Vivian Jenna Wilson. The gender of the petitioner is changed from male to female.’

Vivian, 18, who has a twin named Griffin, filed court papers to make the change in April but they did not come to light until this week.

Vivian is now facing a court hearing on Friday morning in Santa Monica to confirm her change of gender and name.

Musk has not yet commented on the paperwork. In a tweet on Monday night, Justine said: ”I had a weird childhood,’ my 18 year old said to me.’

‘I can’t believe I’m as normal-seeming as I am.’ ‘I said, ‘I’m very proud of you.’ ‘I’m proud of myself!”

Justine’s tweet came as controversial past remarks by Elon about transgender issues resurfaced in light of the announcement.

Musk has a history of making controversial comments about trans people, declaring in 2020 that ‘pronouns suck’ and adding: ‘I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.’

He also has declared his support for Florida governor Ron DeSantis who sparked a controversy with a bill nicknamed the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill that bans teaching children in third grade or below anything about sexual orientation and gender identity.

Vivian filed the paperwork three days after her 18th birthday, but it only became public on Monday, the day after Fathers Day. Neither she nor her twin brother Griffin have been seen publicly recently.

Musk was married to Vivian’s mother, Canadian author Justine Wilson, from 2000 until 2008. Their first son, Nevada, was born in 2002 and died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at 10 weeks. The pair went on to have twin sons – Xavier and Griffin – and triplet boys: Damian, Kai and Saxon, now 16.

In a tweet on Father’s Day, prior to Vivian’s filing, Musk tweeted: ‘I love all my kids so much.’
